At a craft show I attended once I saw a sign that said, "Grandma's: The Place Where Cousins Become Friends". I grew up with no close relationships with cousins so I have a real burn to have my grandchildren be friends. The school kids all had fall break at the same time this year so I cooked up the plan to bring them all here for those few days. I drove to SLC and picked up Lilli, after a delicious lunch at the Olive Garden with Megan, Jamie, Natalie, and Lilli. Then she and I drove to Jake's daycare and retrieved him. We then went to Lije's school and loaded him into the Burb. We made our way south to Spanish Fork and found three more passengers. Every seat in the Suburban had a body in it. Wahoo!!!
This picture is out of order, but that's typical for me. We did take the kids on a plane ride and Clark suggested they all make funny faces for this photo. For some reason, Jake was a little nervous this time. Maybe it was because Mick was the co-pilot and he tried out some zigs and zags on us.

We visited the newly re-opened Dinosaur Quarry. Each child had an old cell phone that took pictures or an old camera. They paid more attention than I had ever seen them. They loved taking pictures and comparing with each other.

We purchased a flag pole to put in the front yard and waited until we had plenty of helpers to put it up.

Don't you just love the look of wonder on Kade's face.

Sidewalk chalk is wonderful to get those creative juices flowing.

We made a flag to hang on the tree house. Each child put his/her hand prints on it. We had a good time making it and now we are about to hang it for the first time. Drum roll, please.

Ta da!!

This trampoline has been around for almost 30 years. The hours of enjoyment are incalculable.

Friends?? I think my plan is working.

Our apple tree produced very well this year. Clark had the kids each pick a sack to take home with them. Can you see the monkey in this tree?

Mick wondered why there was a "circus plane" at the airport. It wasn't a circus plane, but they sure enjoyed looking at the fun paint job.

And last, but certainly not least, we made our requisite trip to the "zoozeum."

I hope they will always get along as well as they did this weekend. It was so much fun. We will definitely do it again.

What a fun Grandma and Grandpa you guys are! I wish I could pick up my kiddles in Virginia that easy.
You two are amazing! When I get retired I'd like to try this. Thanks for the inspiration!
