Galilean Night

Four hundred years ago Galileo started observing the night sky. All over the world Oct 22 was chosen as the celebration night to check out the stars. http://www.galileannights.org/ Clark and his friend, Tom Howells, put together a celebration in Vernal. There were 5 or 6 telescopes in varying sizes set up, each was looking at something different so the crowd could move from one to the next. I am guessing there were more than 100 people of all ages that came to enjoy the night.

The Uintah County Library set up a table with books and videos about astronomy that can be checked out. It was a great hit with the younger viewers.
Frozen April McRae from the library with her telescope.

Clark's mom, Merlene, even came over and checked out the evening.

The event was sponsored by Sentry West Insurance Services.
