Lijiah & Jake at Bald Eagle Day
Each year the Division of Wildlife Resources holds a day to look for Bald Eagles in the Jensen area along the Green River. Some years we have seen several. This year was not so successful. At the staging area they did have two live birds -- A Great Horned Owl and a Swanson's Hawk -- for the crowd to look at. Jake wanted to touch. Not allowed. He was not a happy camper.
Lije, on the other hand, did not want anything to do with the birds.
While we were in the Jensen area, we visited what is left of the Dinosaur Quarry Visitors Center. The new one will be started soon with a hopeful open date of fall 2011.
Erin spent the day with us and this how the 3 of them measure up to a T-Rex leg.
A visit to Vernal would not be complete with a trip to the zoozeum. They love brushing away the chips to uncover the dinosaur bones.
Headed home. It was a tough day for a little guy.
