April Update

Boy, have I been a slacker. There have been a number of activities that I could blog about but Julie and Jamie have pretty well covered most of them.

Easter at Jarod and Jamie's was so fun. The kids had a great time finding the plastic eggs over and over. The first time the eggs were filled with fun stuff. After that they were just hid and found. At one point Jarod just stood and threw the eggs and the kids had a great time chasing after them. The big bubble wands that Grandma (me) bought were a big hit as well. When they weren't being used as bubble wands they made great swords. With the help of all of us, we had a yummy Easter feast. Thanks Jarod and Jamie for providing the meeting place.

Mick and Tori came home with us for a few days during their spring break. They got to fly with Grandpa. So much cooler than driving in the car with Grandma. Then Lije and Jake traded places with M & T and we got to enjoy them too. Grandpa Clark got the trampoline set up and it received plenty of use. As long as the Dinosaur "Zoozeum" stays open, we will have some place to go with the grand kids. We can hardly wait for Kade and Lilli to get old enough to come and stay.

I had a delightful birthday. Lots of birthday wishes and visits with great friends. Thanks to you all.

One of Clark's long time flying friends, Ted Hatch - owner of Hatch River Expeditions, passed away on the 18th and the family came to Clark and asked him if he would fly Ted's plane over the cemetery. What an honor for him that with all the pilots Ted knew, Clark was the one to be asked. When the whole thing came together, 10 local pilots made a pass over the crowd, tipped their wings, and then turned to the east and flew out of sight. (Thanks to my very computer savvy daughter-in-law, Jamie, for fixing the photos. Not all the planes were over the cemetery at once.)
Several minutes later, Clark made his slow pass over the cemetery in Ted's Cessna 210, tipped his wings and then turned to the West and started to climb out of sight. I had arrived early to get a good photo opportunity away from the grave. I don't know if the whole flyby was as emotional for the family as it was for me, but I couldn't stop crying. (Like right now, just writing about it.) Watching Clark fly off into the "sunset" was unbelievably wrenching to me. I was soooo glad when he was back on the ground and in my arms.

Clark's aunt, Betty Hart, passed away last week. It was great to learn more about her at the funeral. She was an amazingly fun mother/aunt/friend it sounded like. I think my kids sure got jipped in the "fun mom" department. Well, I guess it's never too late. Maybe I can still come up with some fun times.

I am at Clark's office. We are looking for a new secretary, again. We appreciated Peggy being with us for 14 years, but boy do we really appreciate her now. We've had 6 secretaries in less than 2 years. Anyway, the point of this is that I don't have access to my photos and I will try to add some when I get home. (If I can figure out how to add them after the fact.) (I added them, just not where I wanted them to be. I guess I need to call on Jamie for more help.)
