Kade's First Plane Ride

Adam and Julie were taking a trip to St. George (check out his post of their trip at http://thehallfamilyfun.blogspot.com) so we were able to have all three kids with us for a few days. I have to admit I was more than a little apprehensive about keeping Kade. He is only a year and has never stayed a night away from his parents. It was pure delight. He slept through the night, he ate (slowly) whatever I gave him, and he smiled and cuddled.

One of the standard grandkid activities is the museum, of course. I won't bore you with more zoozeum photos. The other favorite is going for a plane ride. Mick and Tori have been up with Grandpa several times. This was Kade's first experience and he LOVED it. Before you can take off, you have to open the hanger to get the plane out. Mick and Tori were very strong and took care of that duty for us.

Kade was pretty tickled to be sitting in the pilot's seat. Grandpa doesn't share that spot with very many people. :) Doesn't he have the cheesiest grin? He knows which knob to push to make it go.
Do you think Mick is a little excited? He is very interested in airplanes and helicopters (we'll try to work that out of him) right now. He draws some pretty good pictures for Grandpa to put on his office wall or my fridge.
Tori got to be the co-pilot for this trip. Clark let her handle the yoke for a minute. We all know how kids drive. Hard right, hard left. Scared Mick to pieces. He isn't impressed with her piloting skills. I'm sure she will improve with practice.

It was fun to have them here. Kade (and the others) are welcome back at any time.
