Easter with the Dinosaurs

Clark is a member of the "Friends of the Museum" and each year they sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt inside the Utah Field House of Natural History, better known as the Dinosaur Museum. This was our first year to participate.

The line of anxious hunters is just outside the door. The eggs were not actually hidden. They were tossed helter, skelter throughout the building. There really are not many places you can hide something without getting into areas that are off limits to the public. There were several teenagers assigned to be the egg tossers. The kids brought their baskets with them. The organizers actually suggested that the kids pick up a max of 10 eggs each. Get real folks. Anyway the kids picked up eggs (10 each of course) then made their way back to the lobby of the museum where they dumped their plastic eggs into a box and moved on to the next room where they received a prize. The tossers then took the recovered eggs and tossed them again, and again, and again.

I was stationed at the retrieval boxes. It was so fun to see the kids come through. They were dressed in anything from PJ's to Easter finery. The variety of baskets was delightful. Adam and Julie were the last family to arrive, having driven in from Spanish Fork that morning. I actually had to hold the door for them. So, of course, Mick and Tori did not have to abide by the "only 10" rule. Tori had made this adorable bunny ear hat in kindergarten and Adam was happy to display it for her.

This was a really fun activity and I'm sure we will participate again next year.
