July 2 - 12
We started the month in Spanish Fork celebrating Mick's 9th birthday. He is totally into airplanes right now so for his party we flew out and Clark took him and several friends on a spin around the valley. Of course the birthday boy had to wear the Red Baron's (Clark's CB handle when we were dating) official leather helmet and silk scarf.
After the birthday party we brought Mick, Tori, and Kade back to Vernal with us for a visit. We went to the 4th of July Parade. As usual, my favorite part of the parade is the F-16 Fly by.
We had the traditional celebration at Merlene's house that evening.
The next day we drove up to the Flaming Gorge Dam. They were still releasing excess water through the jets at the base of the dam. It is always an impressive site. Natalie was in town so she rode along with us.
I didn't get any good photos of the water fights that were played out during the week. We filled this little pool over and over so Mick & Tori and several families of neighbor kids could have squirt gun fights.
A visit without roasting hot dogs and marshmallows?? What kind of a visit would that be.
While Natalie was here she was trying to keep the kids busy. Bless her!! This started out as a simple project but it evolved into a super fun project. Prince and Princess Charming had clothes hanger wires on the back so you can make them dance.
So, of course, we had to watch Cinderella and dance with them. It was so much fun.
The last part of the visit we drove over to the Upper Stillwater Dam for our ward's outdoor activity. This time we only had two ladies join us so we all rode over together.
I love sharing these kinds of activities with our grandkids. I hope they remember the fun things we do with them.
