Little Hikers and Swimmers

{Back track to mid August}

Just before we left for South Carolina we had Lije and Jake with us for about a week. In the hustle and bustle of our other trip, documentation of their visit got lost. But here it is now.

Clark is trying to get our ward outside and active so he has created the "Corps of Discovery: A Monthly Hike." The first one was in August and we were hiking to the Limber Flag Yurt. This is a forest service rentable hut/yurt. The hike is only about a mile to a mile and a half. No one but Clark, Bev, Lije, Jake and a family friend showed up. We had a great time. The boys were a little whiney on the way up but they made it the whole way without being carried. Lijiah is big into video games so we just worked up in "levels" and that got us clear to the top at about level 111. :)

Those wood peckers are busy little buggers. This tree was full of holes.
Once we got to level 111 he was full of energy and fun. Love these little men. I had a hard time keeping up with Lijiah on the way day. Jake did get some Grandpa assistance on the way down.

Also while they were here our ward had a waterslide party. These two are totally fearless and LOVE the water. Clark took them down the waterslide once and then it was up and down as fast as they could go by themselves. After we made them sit still for 30 seconds and eat a quick bite of supper it was into the pool. Jump in, paddle to the side, jump in, paddle, jump. Over and over. They were very disappointed when lightning in the distance made them empty the pool.

We love it when the grand kids can come and visit. I'm sure a museum visit was thrown in here some place. But we've done photos of that so many times I'll skip it for this trip.
