Play and Work

Clark takes the boys on an expedition each year so a few years ago the girls decided we needed to do something as well. We have had a hard time getting everyone to an event. I am unbelievably excited to say all six of us were together this year. We had tickets to see the Broadway production of Disney's Lion King at the Capitol Theater in Salt Lake City. It was incredible. I was so curious to see how they would make all the animals. WOW!! The costumes were awesome. The voices were amazing. It was just a wonderful experience. After the play, we walked around the corner to The Melting Pot Restaurant. Yummy, yummy. But even better is it is so much fun. It is a fondue restaurant. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Appetizer of cheese fondue, then a salad, followed by the main course (meat and vegetables) and the best part of all for a finisher -- chocolate fondue. We joked about next time going to McDonalds for the main course and coming here for dessert, lots of dessert.

I just can't tell you how happy I was to have all my girls with me. My mom used to say she was like a hen that wanted all her chicks in the same nest. My nest was full this night, Mom.

While the girls were out playing, the men and kids were back at Jarod's house working. He has many, many stumps in his back yard that need to be removed. One of them was small enough that they were able to just dig, dig, and dig some more to get it out. This one was beyond digging. When we got back with the suburban it was pressed into service. They tied the tow rope around the stump and everyone stood way back. Clark put it in 4 low and started easing away. It was not an easy out. But as you can see by the triumphant faces, it did come out. One of the many, many reasons I love my burb.

I am so grateful for the opportunities we have to work and play together. Heavenly Father loves us and provides all sorts of blessings each day.
