Boating, Finally ;)

Our boat has been in the shop more than in our yard this summer. We had one successful trip with some friends early in July and every other time there has been some major problem. Tonight we had success. (A few minor glitches, but considering some of the other problems we've had, we are not even going to mention them.)

The water was so calm and beautiful. We always choose Red Fleet Reservoir because you can go up the canyon where it is shady to have dinner or let the kids out of the boat without fear of other boats speeding by. Tonight we just grabbed a few things out of the fridge and cupboard for our meal. When we got up the canyon and stopped to eat there was a small school of blue gill fish hanging around. We started throwing crumbs to them. BBQ potato chips a definite no. Chips Ahoy cookies, a maybe. Turkey, yummy good. They loved it and would have eaten twice what I had to share with them. I had to laugh when it was gone and they hung around a minute and then just turned tail and swam away. It reminded me of all the fish in the movie Finding Nemo.

Clark always launches the boat and then I park the suburban and trailer. I can drive forward with a trailer, but heaven forbid I have to back an inch. He waits patiently for me in the water. We were one of three boats on the entire reservoir tonight.

Doesn't this look like a peaceful way to spend an evening in such a beautiful setting.
